My lovely and talented wife, Kaai shot this brief footage of me walking by the hallway at work late one evening. The goal was to take this footage and to transform it into a very short effects shot of a facial tranformation. Using the built-in features in AE 7, the motion tracker was used to stabilize my face area in a specific part of the sequence. 'Liquify' effects handled the duties of the facial morph and masks of the darkened areas of the eyes and mouth were created and then 'parented' to the motion-tracked footage. Color was then adjusted via curves, saturation and color balance to give it some more grit and style. The video was also time-remapped to have the initial part play in a higher speed and then to slow-down during the transformation part. It's a nice and powerful effect that can totally alter the mood of a particular clip.

Finally some simple titles were inserted along with an audio track (SF59) and sound effect. The sfx timing is a bit off however. Please scrub the timeline to see it in slow motion! Thanks Kaai for the nice camera work and direction!
